Yes — no credit card, no account, no expiry. The free web app will always be available at foxscroll.com/app. We make money on Pro subscriptions, not by paywalling the basics.
Pro uses cloud-based speech recognition (powered by Deepgram) to listen to your microphone in real time. When you're speaking, the script scrolls. When you pause, it waits. The scroll speed adapts to your natural reading pace — you're always in sync with your words.
Browser speech recognition is inconsistent across devices — it's unreliable on Firefox, broken on some Androids, and has noticeable latency. Deepgram's cloud API delivers sub-200ms response time on any browser or device, which is what you need for smooth, uninterrupted delivery.
The web app works great on mobile browsers — just open foxscroll.com/app in Safari or Chrome. Native iPhone and Android apps with offline support are on the roadmap and are part of the Pro plan.
During beta, Pro is $5/month (vs. the regular $7.99/month). If you subscribe during the beta period, that rate is locked for the life of your subscription — even as we add desktop apps, mobile apps, and new features.
Yes. macOS and Windows desktop apps are planned, and are included in the Pro subscription. Sign up for the beta list to be notified when they launch.
No. In the free web app, your script never leaves your browser — it's not sent to any server. The Pro voice feature sends only your microphone audio (not the script text) to Deepgram for transcription, under their standard privacy terms.
